ORGANIC FARMER
The Organic Farmer is responsible for the health and maintenance of field crops, orchards, and greenhouses. We are a research farm, so the ideal candidate must have a can-do attitude and willing to try (and sometimes fail) new things untraditional to the mainstream farming industry. This position includes a large potential for growth. Responsibilities:
​

Expand and maintain field crops, orchards, and greenhouses
-
General landscaping and tree services
-
Prepare seasonal planting and harvest schedules
-
Implementation of organic pest management systems
-
Prepare for and attend farmer's markets
-
Work with volunteers
-
Prepare and execute product deliveries and shipments
-
Installation and regular inspection of irrigation and fencing
-
Maintain proper sanitation and food handling practices
-
Keep facilities clean and organized
-
Daily detailed record keeping and time tracking
-
Uphold organic certification standards
-
Tractor and trailer operation
-
Ensure product quality and availability
-
Expand customer base via marketing and outreach
-
Adhere to and uphold safety standards and practices
-
Livestock chore coverage as necessary
-
Administrative duties as necessary

Qualifications:
​

Practical knowledge and experience with regenerative farming practices in a medium to large scale polyculture environment

US work authorized
-
Valid driver's license
-
Clean, organized, and efficient
-
Reliable and teachable
-
Ability to life 50lbs
-
Willing to obtain food handler certification
Preferred Skills (not required):

Class A CDL or willingness to obtain CDL

Arborist experience or willingness to obtain arborist certification

Spanish / English bilingual

Welding / soldering

Carpentry / construction
